Responsibilities
Is hereby authorized to make inspections to determine the conditions of dwellings, dwelling units, rooming units, and premises located within the City of Bridgeton in order that the department may perform their duty of safeguarding the health and safety of the occupants of dwellings and the general public.
Rental Registrations
Please note that Rental Registrations are due on an annual basis regardless if the property is vacant. You can download a Rental Registration and mail it to Housing/Code Enforcement by March 1 of every year at the cost of $75.00. Payments made after the 1st will have a $50.00 late fee assigned.

Certificates of Occupancy
Every rental unit shall be required to receive an inspection upon any change in occupancy, and any rental unit owner shall report such changes to the Housing Department and obtain a new certificate of occupancy before allowing change in occupancy. Please see downloadable form.
Rental CO’s are covered under the annual rental registration renewal.
Business CO’s - cost is $120.00 Re-inspection is $60.00

Upon sale of any property within the City of Bridgeton, a resale certificate needs to be filed with this office. Please see downloadable form.
